Dear Valued Member of the SCGA,
We wish to inform you that the multi-decade relationship between the SCGA and the SCGA Junior Golf Foundation is in transition to become two independent organizations. This transition, which does not impact your membership, participation or benefits, is an amicable one and intended to pursue the best possible future for both organizations.
The transition phase is underway and will establish independent governance and operations, including the Foundation ultimately operating under a different name, which has not yet been determined. The timeline for completing this transition remains fluid.
The SCGA’s commitment to junior golf in Southern California remains strong. The SCGA believes in the mission of creating opportunities for young people through golf and will continue to support the Foundation. Additionally, the SCGA is dedicated to investing in elements of golf that create a sustainable future. This commitment to the holistic health of the game will be furthered moving forward.
The Foundation's mission and commitment to serving young people through golf remain unchanged. The Foundation remains committed to providing its programs, instruction, scholarships and opportunities for young people throughout Southern California as the transition moves forward. Charitable contributions remain essential to supporting these efforts and expanding opportunities for young people to experience the game. Members who have supported junior golf through the Foundation can continue to make a meaningful difference through their ongoing support.
The SCGA will forever remain proud of the collaborative impact made through the Foundation. Should you have additional questions, please reach out to our membership team at membership@scga.org. Supporters and donors of the Foundation are encouraged to reach out to the Foundation’s leadership team at foundation@scga.org.
Thank you for continued support of the SCGA.
