The SCGA’s Board of Directors has named Jeff Ninnemann as the Association’s Executive Director, effective immediately.
Most recently, Jeff served as the Interim Executive Director, following the resignation of Mike Kelly. Before that role, Jeff was Chief Operating Officer, responsible for the function of the Association’s core services. His long tenure of service and leadership has cultivated strong professional relationships with the SCGA’s staff, Board of Directors, Past Presidents and expansive base of volunteers.
“Jeff is absolutely the right person to lead the SCGA into its next chapter,” said SCGA President Huy Dang.
“His experience and accomplishments inside the Association and around the game of golf are second to none. The Board is extremely confident and excited in Jeff’s ability to foster a best-in-class workplace culture that will ultimately benefit those we serve on a daily basis."
Jeff began his career with the SCGA in 2003 as a P.J. Boatwright, Jr. Intern. He then worked for the NCGA for one year before returning to the SCGA in 2005 as the Assistant Director, Rules and Competitions.
From 2013 to 2023, Jeff was the Director of Championships and Golf Operations where he created and integrated programming and events following the Association’s mergers with numerous regional golf associations – all with the vision of providing more opportunities for SCGA members and the Southern California golfing community.
He has executed and overseen numerous championships, qualifiers and other initiatives, including key SCGA championships, the California Amateur Championships and has been involved with numerous national championships, including the U.S. Open. Through this work, Jeff has built and maintained close working relationships with the leadership of many of the SCGA’s allied partners, including the USGA, the NCGA, the SCPGA and the AGA community as a whole. He has also served as a leading voice and resource on various committees pertaining to the Rules of Golf.
As COO for the SCGA, Jeff’s exposure to other key areas of the organization expanded, including the organization’s membership initiatives, club services, public affairs, course rating and several of the other administrative functions of the SCGA.
Over the coming weeks, Jeff will work closely with the SCGA Board and Leadership Team on identifying and communicating the organization’s priorities and goals.
