This week, the annual COPi Cup Invitational Pro-Am presented by Legistics, Inc. raised $319,008 for the SCGA Junior Golf Foundation’s scholarship fund. Held annually at Pebble Beach GL and Spyglass Hill GC, this event provides a significant boost to fund scholarships for students pursuing post-high school education and career pathways.
With the incredible success of this event, the Foundation will expand its funding for 2026-2027, pursue further partnership for post-secondary educational opportunities for Foundation Scholars and SCGA Juniors, and invest in the COPi Cup Endowment.
Phil Frengs, past president of the Foundation and CEO of Legistics, Inc., hosts the invitational. Since its inception 14 years ago, the event has raised $2.5 million for post-secondary scholarships.
"Like most things, you get better with repetition,” said Frengs. “Now in our fourteenth year, the 2026 COPi Cup was our most successful to date. As always, I'm so appreciative of our friends and their generosity because it's making a true difference for our kids.”
For the sixth year in a row, Marcus De La Rosa, PGA, representing Santa Ana CC secured the individual tournament win finishing the event at 3-under par. Santa Ana CC, comprised of Marcus De La Rosa, PGA, Cal Culmer, Rick Glasser and Steve Levisee (pictured above) claimed the team title at 26-under par.
"The COPi Cup is always great but setting a new fundraising record this year is truly remarkable," said SCGA Junior Golf Foundation Executive Director Kevin Gigax. "Our supporters continue to invest generously towards our mission and their partnership will change the lives of future scholars."
Dallas Vega, the Foundation’s 2025 Mimi Frengs Scholar and longtime SCGA Junior participant, reflected on the impact that the Foundation has made on his life and educational journey in this incredible video that was shown at the event.
